Eleven Mile Canyon

Eleven Mile Canyon, Lake George Colorado

Elevenmile Canyon is located in Lake George, Colorado and is a renowned recreational area. It is a favorite site for fishing, kayaking, hiking, and bouldering (or rock climbing). The upper portion of the canyon is an ideal trout fishery open to fly fishing or lures only and is a catch and release area.
11 Mile Canyon Tunnel All of the four campgrounds located at 11 Mile Canyon have toilets, water, tables and fire rings and can be reserved.


  • Cove Campground is located 9 miles southwest of Lake George via County Roads 61 and 96 .
  • To get to Springer Gulch Campground, take County Roads 61/96 6.75 miles southwest of Lake George.
  • If you like to play horseshoes, you will find a horseshoe pit at Riverside Campground. It is located 2 miles southwest of Lake George via County Roads 61/96.
  • If you travel 10 miles southwest of Lake George via County Roads 61/96, you will be at the Spillway Campground, which is located at the face of the Elevenmile Reservoir.

Make your reservations, these campgrounds fill up fast. Nearby hiking, fishing, climbing and trails make these areas very popular during late spring, summer, and early fall.
