Florissant Colorado

Florissant, Colorado

Florissant, while appearing to be a sleepy mountain community located at the highway crossroads of Hwy 24 & Teller 1, continues to grow to meet the needs of its population. Examples of growth include the addition of a new library offering multimedia opportunities, fast broadband, computer access; as well as, wireless access has brought residents closer to friends, relatives, and online education.

Visit the Costello Street Coffee House to enjoy coffee, teas, bakery items, and a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner items. This is a true treat as you sip your favorite beverage and explore this restored Victorian building.
Florissant Fossil Beds

Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument

Florissant is also home to the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument. Explore the past while learning about the future. The Fossil Beds also provide one of the prime elk viewing locations in Teller County. Mornings or evenings you'll likely see elk grazing along the roadway and hiking trails. By the first week of September, you may also begin to hear the bull elk bugling their best tunes to attract a harem of ladies.
